The Kaneland Community Fine Arts Festival (KCFAF) is accepting submissions for the 2nd Annual Juried Art Show. Artists, ages 18 years and older, are invited to enter photos or pdfs of 2D and 3D media artworks for consideration into the show.
All chosen artwork will then be judged by a panel of professional artists and cash prizes will be awarded to first through third place winners. This year, the Sugar Grove Public Library will be hosting the show April 1 - 30th.

Learn How to Use What You Own at the Sugar Grove Library, from 10 – 11am, on Saturday, February 27 in Meeting Room C. Join Julea Joseph of Reinventing Space as she shows you how you can reinvent your décor by using what you already own to rearrange and beautify your space.

A local AARP Volunteer will be available in the Sugar Grove Library to assist Senior Citizens with Tax Preparation FREE of charge. One Hour appointments will be available between 9am and Noon each Thursday beginning January 21st through April 15th, 2010. This is part of the AARP Tax-Aide program which was created to help low- and middle-income taxpayers prepare and file their income tax returns with the IRS, free of charge.
"From Our Hearts - Cards for the Troops" will take place at the Sugar Grove Public Library on Sunday, January 31 from 1 to 4pm.
From Our Hearts is a not-for-profit 501c3 that was started by stampers wanting to help service men and women stay in touch with their loved one back home in the States by providing them with quality handcrafted greeting cards.

The U.S. Census Bureau is hiring people to work in temporary jobs. The jobs involve going door-to-door to interview residents. Job applicants are required to take a skills test and undergo a background check. Most jobs require U.S. citizenship, a driver’s license, and use of a vehicle.

The Sugar Grove Library is pleased to make space in our new building available for Early Voting. Library Staff are not involved in the early voting process. Early Voting at the library involves Kane County Election Judges with Kane County election equipment using our Board Meeting Room for 13 days in January. The voting equipment can take votes from most Kane County residents. The exception being the residents of the City of Aurora.
