Overdrive, where you download audio books and ebooks FREE from the library, has launched a new look for their web site! Overdrive has a new, clean, bright, and easy to navigate site! You’ll find many ways to search for books, easy to use Help links and a link to a list of compatible devices. Check it out and download a book today!!

 

Just go to the library’s home page (www.sugargrove.lib.il.us), click on the link to download books, log in with your library card and pin number (usually the last 4 digits of your library card number), and find that book you want to “read”.

 

If you haven’t experienced downloading books yet – and need a little extra help – stop in the library for some help in the Computer Lab. Or make an appointment with Wayne in the Lab for some individual tutoring. Happy Reading!

 


 
FREE audio and braille library service ... Print

The Illinois Network of Talking Book and Braille Libraries is funded through the cooperation of the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped/Library of Congress and the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Providing FREE audio and braille library service for the print impaired reader. Anyone who is unable to comfortably read standard print due to a temporary or permanent visual or physical disability is eligible for the Talking Book and Braille Service. All materials and equipment are mailed postage-free through the Talking Book Centers. Books, magazines and audio machines are loaned to users at no cost.

Learn a new Language, brush up on an old skill Print

Byki, short for “Before You Know It,” is a rapid learning system employing spaced interval repetition. The Byki learning method takes users through a series of simple steps to memorize words and phrases in a new language, including their meanings and proper pronunciation, in the shortest possible time.

Available for learning over 70 languages, library patrons are able to access the Byki Online system from inside or outside of the library, via the web browser on Windows and Mac computers.  Your initial use must be at the library.
