Learn a New Language
Learn a new language with Transparent Language Online

Choose from 80 available languages: learn a new language or improve your existing skills! Patrons with a valid Sugar Grove Public Library card can access the Transparent Language Online system from inside or outside of the library via a web browser on a computer, or use the Byki Community Edition App on a mobile device (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch or Android). You can sign up at the library or from your home by clicking the Byki/Transparent Language Online button on the library website (on the left, under the “Online Resources” heading). The first time you visit the login/sign-up page, take a moment to view the slide show highlighting numerous Transparent Language Online features.

From the Transparent Language Online website: “Transparent Language Online is a unique application that bridges the gap between learning a language online and using that language in the real world by allowing users to do both in one program. It features a scientifically-proven methodology, a wide variety of high-quality learning material, and seamless integration of real-life language use by native speakers - all packaged together in an easy-to-use interface that can be accessed at any time and from any computer with Internet access”.

Start with the Byki/Transparent Language Online button on our website, use your library card number, and then create a User Name and Password. Once you’ve logged in, follow the Getting Started tips and start learning! For more information on how you can take your language learning “on the go” with the Byki Community Edition App, click HERE. And here’s the good news: as a patron with a valid Sugar Grove Public Library card, you don’t have to worry about purchasing a subscription or buying a special version of the App – your learning experience is FREE!
